The Legacy of Hawk's Flight Farm
Since 1981, Arabians have been a large part of my life. The horses below shared their lives with me, some longer than others....they are an integral part of my life and the heritage of Hawk's Flight Farm. Our animals never live as long as we would like, but we are blessed to have whatever time they have given us in this life...
For those who have gone on to new, wonderful homes, we remember you in our hearts and are thankful to have shared you with others who love you just as much.
Note: the photo shown above was taken by our friend and fellow Arabian breeder, Mindy Milwee. The mare is LF Eursofab with her daughter, Diammond Lil - see below for more history about these two superb Arabians...

GF Exquisite - Mark Al Badi X GF Jabrina
1986 grey Arabian mare photo credit: Suzanne Sturgill
GF Exquisite was bred by one of the greatest breeders I have ever known - Kathy Teitrick of Greenland Farms. Exquisite was my foundation broodmare and is the dam of halter champion, SA Maleeka and HF Diva Jamaal. Her sire was a Shaikh Al Badi son and her dam was breathtakingly beautiful.
Exquisite's lines are thankfully preserved still on the farm in her daughter, HF Diva Jamaal, and her granddaughters, HF Amira de Lis, HF Exquisite Colours, HF Charm Bracelet, and HF Shahara Jamaal.
Her passing in 2004 took a piece of my heart with her...

SA Maleeka - Havlinn+// X GF Exquisite
1993 grey mare photo credit: Suzanne Sturgill
Maleeka was bred by my wonderful friend, Sandy, when she leased GF Exquisite from me. Her sire, Havlinn+//, was a multinational and Regional dressage champion in Prix St. George level. Thankfully, I was able to purchase her back as a yearling and she went on to become the high-point halter champion in Florida as a three year old (shown by the successful Florida breeder/trainer - Bob Burton).
Maleeka's beauty and temperament were legendary, as were her abilities as a broodmare. Her bloodlines are a combination of the best Polish and Egyptian pedigrees in the world.
Maleeka left us too soon in November 2012, and tragically, her 4 year old daughter by Amir Jamaal, HF Amira Saphira, joined her just a few weeks later.
Maleeka is still represented here by her gorgeous daughter, HF Amira de Lis....

HF Imtoxicating - Imtaarif X Kohela
1998 straight Egyptian mare photo credit: April Visel
"Kharma", as we called her, was one of the sweetest mares I have ever bred. Her dam, Kohela, was bred by Kathy Teitrick, Greenland Farm, and I was blessed to own her for the time period I did. Kharma was a prolific producer and we are so fortunate to have two of her daughters to carry on her lineage.
Kharma is living a wonderful life now at Hanaya Arabians, Switzerland.

HF True Temptress - True Colours X HF Imtoxicating

"Tempe" was another ethereal daughter out of HF Imtoxicating and by international champion, True Colours. Her temperament was indicative of the Arabian - sweet and loving and we know she is prized in her home at Al Hawajer Stud.

LF Eursofab - SHF Southern Whiz X Fabrice
1990 grey Arabian mare photo credit: Javan
Tears still come to my eyes thinking about this beauty, as we lost her in a freak breeding accident after only having her for a short while.
She was only about 14.2, but when she came out of her stall, snorting, blowing, tail cranked over her back, I thought she was about 16 hands!! I called her my little unicorn as she was as close to being a perfect, classic Arabian mare as possible.

Diammond Lil - Versace X LF Eursofab
2004 grey Arabian mare
When I tragically lost LF Eursofab, I was thankfully able to purchase her daughter, Lili. Lili had the wonderful temperament of her sire, the great Versace, and the fiery show attitude of her mother.
Lili sired a showy, chestnut colt by Amir Jamaal who is now owned by IIB Farms - HF Mateo Jamaal.
Pictured to the left - she was shown by Jordan Simons for her new owner, Dr. Ghanem Al Hajry/Al Hawajer Stud, at the Breeders Cup, Las Vegas - Congratulations!!! .

HF Psypher ++++// - Amir Jamaal X HF Psyquoia
2008 bay Arabian gelding photo credit: Suzanne Sturgill
As you can see by the symbols after Psypher's name - he is a superstar!! As a yearling, Psypher was purchased by our great friend, Matt Murray. Matt took him to several halter wins in Scottsdale and the US.
He is now owned by Texie Lowery and is continuing his successful show career under saddle in the Hunter Pleasure and Ladies' Side Saddle divisions. He was the Unanimous 2012 National Halter Gelding AAO and we know that he will continue to add more ribbons and accolades in the years to come - congratulations to Texie!!!

HF Magnum Antares - Magnum Chall HVP X Mega Starr LL
2006 chestnut Arabian mare photo credit: Suzanne Sturgill
"Torrie's" mother, a powerful Magnum Psyche daughter, did not want to have any part of being a mom. I had to take Torrie away from her almost immediately after birth and bucket-feed her. She was just exquisite and would follow me around the farm like a puppy.
She went on to place sixth out of 92 fillies in the Scottsdale Signature Stallion Yearling class and is now happily owned by Sanchas Arabians. Torrie is a great mother herself now, so the cycle has been broken for having to bucket-feed her foals.

HF Stravinski - Amir Jamaal X Lady Menes
2008 bay Arabian gelding photo credit: April Visel halter set - Arabian Fancy Tack
This stunning colt gained his barn name of "Mac" when one of our vets came out to administer his IGG after his birth. He said, "Wow, he's built like a Mack truck!" and the name stuck.
We had high hopes that Mac would be our junior stallion at Hawk's Flight Farm, however, when he matured, he was way too hot to keep as a stallion, so we sadly gelded him.
He is under saddle, and is happy and healthy in his new home in the Tampa area.

HF Winning Colours - True Colours X HF Amira de LIs
2006 bay Egyptian-related Arabian stallion photo credit: Suzanne Sturgill
When Amira de Lis was due to foal, I stayed awake watching a Harry Potter movie with one eye, and the other eye on the foaling camera. Sure enough, at about 2 a.m., Amira delivered a striking colt - of course, we had to name him Harry!
Harry is proudly owned and loved by the Millers of Sanchas Arabians. They had shown him very successfully on the Open Circuit and the Egyptian Event (he won the Most Classic Head contest!).
We foaled out Harry's first foal in 2013 and if that colt is any indication, Harry will also make his mark as a very prepotent stallion.
